Internship Projects
I did my 3 months internship with SuperRed Music in Petaling Jaya. The first two months was remote due to the lockdown and I got the chance to go back to the studio for the last month. Here are the projects that I have done.
TikTok Songs
Composing, Mixing & Mastering
For my first week, I had to create 3, 15 sec TikTok songs. The challenge is to make it short but interesting as possible. I also had the freedom to create any genre or topic. I produced, mixed and mastered these 3 songs.
TikTok CNY Songs

Similar to the one above, these are also 15 secs songs but the topic was CNY since it was nearing the CNY celebration. I decided to make two of it comedic and the third one a trap CNY song. I sampled sounds from different videos and ads to create a song.
Takashima Advertisement
Sound Design, Composing, Mixing & Mastering
For this project, I was given a video AD to compose music and add in the sound design. I also did a revised version after that. This taught me to better understand clients and to interpret their wants and feelings to music.
Composition 1
Composing, Mixing & Mastering
For this project, I worked on it with my intern-mates. We were given lyrics by our supervisor and were asked to compose, mix and master two songs using the lyrics. We split into two groups to speed up the process. One of my intern-mates and I, produced the trap version. I also mastered the songs in the end.
Composition 2

Similar to composition 1, we had to compose, mix and master again but the challenge for this was to bring in more Malay elements. I sang on both versions and produced the trap version. This taught me how to work together as a team and to also be accountable with one another.
Sonic Branding (Smart Reader)

These are 3, 6 seconder sonic branding tracks that I've done for a company of my own choosing. I did a bed, logo and a song version for this brand. I recorded my own voice, composed, mixed and mastered these tracks.
Kpop Song Remake (Blackpink)
Producing, Mixing & Mastering
For this project, I was asked to remake a Kpop song of my own choosing. I chose Blackpink 'How You Like That'. This taught me how to mimic sounds and brush up on my listening skills.
Final Month
For my final month of my internship, I was able to go back to the studio to work. One of the assignments was to pick a song so that one of my co-workers could coach me to improve my vocal range. During my day-to-day task in the studio, I composed and sang for one of the kid’s TV series episodes in China. This project taught me how to read storyboards and also acting through singing to bring out the emotions needed. I also sat in as an assistant engineer during one vocal and one voice over recording session just to observe and to learn how to communicate with the clients and talents. I also got to see the ins and outs of a studio. Besides that, I got to direct talents to sing and record them. I also sang in one of the upcoming Ad for Texas Chicken 8 Lada.
